Obituary for Joyce Ann Thomas
JOYCE ANN THOMAS, 77, of Albany, IL, died Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at her home.
Her funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home with Ken Renkes officiating. The visitation will precede the service starting at 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral. Interment will be at Erie Cemetery in Erie, IL. A memorial has been established to the American Cancer Society.
Joyce was born October 28, 1945, in Vandalia, IL, to Virgil and Doris (Teachout) Milligan. She was educated in the Rock Falls Grade School and was a 1964 graduate of Rock Falls High School. She married Richard J. Thomas on March 3, 1984, in Morrison, IL. Joyce was employed and retired from General Electric in Morrison and was a member of the GEM Club. She was an avid seamstress and enjoyed making ceramic dolls. She delighted in arranging flowers and being outdoors, particularly planting flowers. Joyce liked to watch movies, especially with Richard.
Survivors include her husband, Richard; three daughters, Kenya Johnson of Clinton, IA, Kori (Jim) Conner of Hillsdale, IL and Penny Thomas-Dondiego of Albany, IL; one son, Bradley (Jenny) Thomas of Clinton, IA; nine grandchildren, Damon (Alexis) Walters, Tiffany Vogel, Marissa (J.C.) Martin, Alyssa (Ryan) Bohms, Austin (Mackenzie) Dondiego, Venessa (Ethan Cockerham) Dondiego, Matthew Thomas, Cole Thomas and Abby Thomas; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Dixie Vegter of Hampton, IL; two brothers, Ed (Sue) Milligan of Sterling, IL and Clay White of Rock Falls, IL; many nieces and nephews; her special dog, Foxy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Kari Kay Johnson; two grandsons, Scott Schaefer and Lucas Thomas; one sister, Linda Stearman.
