Obituary for Joseph P. Wegloski
JOSEPH P. WEGLOSKI, 86, of Harbor Crest Nursing Home, Fulton, IL, formerly of DeKalb, IL died Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at the nursing home. Joe was born January 14, 1925 in Chicago, IL, to Frank and Mary (Bajek) Wegloski. He served in the United States Air Force from 1943 to 1945 and graduated from Loyola University in Chicago in 1950. He married Eleanor Shatkowski on June 19, 1948 in Chicago, IL. She died December 11, 2007. Joe was the manager of an A&P Store for 25 years and then worked for Dominic"s Food Store until he retired in 1990. He enjoyed being outdoors and traveled extensively with Eleanor. He was a quiet, family man, with a dry sense of humor. He will be missed. Survivors include one daughter, Vicki (Dan) Pawlowski of Clinton, IA; two granddaughters, Capt. Lindsey (Conor) Pawlowski and Shelley Dawn Pawlowski; one brother, Walter Wegloski of Downers Grove, IL and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor; one son, Daniel Wegloski; one brother, and three sisters.
