Obituary for Johnathon Lawrence
SSG. Johnathon Lawrence, 29, of Fort Gregg Adams, VA, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at his home.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 noon, Sunday, August 13, 2023 at the Bosma-Gibson Funeral Home in Prophetstown, IL, officiated by Military Chaplain Mike Demmon. A visitation will be held prior to the service, starting at 10:00 a.m. Interment with military honors will be at Riverside Cemetery in Prophetstown.
Johnathon was born March 24, 1994, in Clinton, IA, to Rita Lawrence. He was educated in the Prophetstown grade schools and was a 2012 graduate of Prophetstown High School. On August 7, 2015 he married Desiree Blazek in Morrison, IL; together they had three beautiful children. Johnathon dedicated his life to the United States military, serving in the U. S. Army from November of 2016 to the present. He was a music lover and played the drums. He enjoyed football and coached a flag football team that had a nearly undefeated season. Johnathon was a HUGE Green Bay Packers fan, and also a Chicago Cubs fan.
Survivors include his wife, Desiree; two daughters, Lennon and Dawson, one son, Calvon; his parents, Rita Lawrence and Matt Hill; a sister, Madison Hill; a brother, Carson Hill; his aunt and uncle, Renee and Tom Lanphere; grandfather, Wayne Hill.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Calvin Frank Lawrence, Jr. and wife Rita Jo-Ann Lawrence; one brother, Sgt. Dalton J. Hill.
