Obituary for John W. Wimer
JOHN W. WIMER, 83, of Morrison, IL, formerly of Cambridge, OH, died Saturday, December 3, 2016, at his home.John was born May 28, 1933, in Upshur County, WV, to Ralph W. and Bernice (Cutright) Wimer. He was a graduate of Cambridge High School and attended Ohio University. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married Jane (Young) Lawrence on June 6, 1992, in Hammondsville, OH. John owned and operated the Midtown News and Wimer Realty both of Cambridge, OH. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite, the Elks Lodge and the American Legion. He enjoyed golfing and traveling in his RV.Survivors include his wife, Jane; one son, Jay (Lori) Wimer of Seven Hills, OH; one stepdaughter, Karla (Tom) Green of Morrison, IL; one stepson, Roger Lawrence of Hammondsville, OH; two grandchildren, Heather Wimer and Jon (Allison) Wimer; six stepgrandchildren, Tyler Smith, Sarah (Neal) Mahoney, Jacob Green, Elizabeth Green, Chelsea Lawrence and Levi Lawrence; three step great-grandchildren, Aiden, Aly, and Annabelle Mahoney.He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Ralph, Jim, and George Wimer.
