Obituary for John H. Tiesman
JOHN H. TIESMAN, 80, of Four Seasons Living Center, Morrison, IL, died Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at Morrison Community Hospital, Morrison. John was born August 21, 1929, in Union Grove Twp., IL, to Claus and Hilda (Haan) Tiesman. He was educated in the Round Grove Grade School of rural Whiteside County. He married Dorothy M. Scudder on February 23, 1951. John served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He engaged in farming in the rural Morrison area for 35 years. He then was employed by the Whiteside County Highway Department for 16 years, retiring in 1992. He enjoyed fishing, traveling out west, collecting arrowheads and hubcaps. He enjoyed attending his grandson"s sporting events and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; two daughters, Kathy (James) Huett of Erie, IL and Sherry (Mark) Widener of Fulton, IL; one grandson, John Widener; one sister, Gertrude Buikema of Morrison; six brothers, Tom (Mary Jo) Tiesman of Rockford, IL, Claus (Wilma) Tiesman of Leesburg, FL, Kenny (Charlotte) Tiesman of AZ, Bob (Dorothy) Tiesman of Lyndon, IL, Ron Tiesman of Sterling, IL, Harlan (Diana) Tiesman of Chicago, IL. He was preceded in death by one sister, Jeanette Hook; one brother, Harold Tiesman.
