Obituary for Jessie Vandereide
JESSIE K. VANDEREIDE, 90, of Resthave Home, Morrison, IL, died Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at Resthave Home. Jessie was born November 24, 1924, in Morrison, IL, to Jacob and Anna (Bush) Brackemyer. She was educated in the Green Valley grade school of rural Whiteside County and was a graduate of Morrison High School in Morrison, IL. Jessie married Orin Vandereide on May 27, 1943, in Morrison, IL. He died June 28, 1996. Jessie farmed with her late husband, Orin, in the rural Morrison, Garden Plain, and Coleta areas. She also was employed by the former Carpenter"s Bakery in Morrison. Jessie was a member of the Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison and the church"s Ladies Aid Society and Quilters. She enjoyed reading, ceramics, and quilting. Survivors include one daughter, Nancy (Cal) Schaver of Brodhead, WI; one son, Wes (Shirley) Vandereide of Elkader, IA; eight grandchildren, Brad (Beth France) Schaver, Brian (Wendy) Schaver, Tracey (LeRoy) Baker, Tina Schaver, Teri Schaver, Teresa Adams, Jolynn (Mike) Westphal, and Jay (Marianne) Vandereide; sixteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Irma Tiesman of Morrison, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Orin; one daughter, Beth Ann Vandereide in infancy; two granddaughters, Kelly Vandereide and Erica Vandereide; two brothers, Roy Brackemyer and Donald Brackemyer.
