Obituary for Jeannette O. Wiersema

JEANNETTE O. WIERSEMA, 73, of Morrison, IL, died Friday, August 24, 2012 at Four Seasons Living Center, Morrison, IL. Jeannette was born April 11, 1939 in Moline, IL to George E. and Vera E. (Carson) Carroll. She was educated in the Thomson grade schools and graduated from Thomson High School in Thomson, IL. She attended Nursing Training in Dixon, IL. Jeannette married Vernon G. Wiersema on May 27, 1961 in Concord, IL. Jeannette was a homemaker and a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison. She participated in the Salvation Army, was an avid gardener and enjoyed raising flowers. Survivors include her husband, Vernon; three sons, Scott Wiersema of Baton Rouge, LA; Todd Wiersema of Seabrook, TX; and Jeff (Tina) Wiersema of Fremont, NH; five grandchildren, Andrew and Ryan Wiersema, Cheyenne R., Jonathan P. and Justin Wiersema; four sisters, Mrs. Marjorie J. Goodman of Rock Island, IL; Elizabeth A. (Wendell) Wassell of East Moline, IL; Mrs. Betty Lou Beck of Arkansas; and Mrs. Darlene V. Hamm of Rock Island, IL; one brother, Ernest James (Lillian) Carroll of Erie, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Bradd E. Wiersema; four sisters, Lila M. Azzola, Barbara E. Corwin, Carol Carroll in infancy, and Vickie Lee Carroll; two brothers, George E. Carroll and Roland L. Carroll.
