Obituary for Jeanette Dykema-Koenes
JEANETTE DYKEMA-KOENES, 86, of Harbor Crest Nursing Home, Fulton, IL, died Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center North, Clinton, IA. Jeanette was born September 29, 1920 in Garden Plain, IL, to Henry and Annie (Bush) Shipma. She was educated in the Garden Plain and Morrison, IL grade schools. She married James J. Dykema on September 17, 1942 in Morrison. He died May 15, 1977. She later married Theodore Koenes on September 1, 1983 in Fulton. She farmed with her first husband in the rural Thomson, IL area. Jeanette was also employed as a nurse"s aid at Harbor Crest Nursing Home. She was a member of the Spring Valley Reformed Church in rural Fulton, IL and the church"s Ladies Aid Society. She was a member of T.O.P.S. Jeanette enjoyed needlepoint, crocheting, reading, and baking. Survivors include her husband, Theodore Ted Koenes of Fulton, IL; three sons, Roger (Cheryl) Dykema of Morrison; Arlyn (Terry) Dykema of Chadwick, IL; and Gary Dykema of Savanna, IL; one stepdaughter, Judy (Mrs. Richard) Smith of Fulton, IL; one stepson, Gary (Priscilla) Koenes of Clinton, IA; seven grandchildren, Jason, Wesley, Jessie, Ryan, Caitlin, Matthew (Evie), and Chad Dykema; nine step grandchildren and fifteen step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, James; one grandson, Joshua Dykema; one stepson, Timothy Koenes; one sister, Anna Meinema; and two brothers, Peter and Louis H. Shipma.
