Obituary for Janice E. Norton
JANICE E. NORTON, 77, of Fulton, IL, died Thursday, August 9, 2018, at Harbor Crest Home in Fulton, IL.
The funeral service will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Hoffman, pastor of Community Reformed Church in Clinton, IA, officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Monday, August 13, 2018, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Cremation rites will be accorded after the funeral service.Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery at a later date. A memorial has been established by the family.
Janice was born June 19, 1941, in Morrison, IL, to Charles and Rena (Venema) Geerts. She was educated in the Fulton Grade Schools and was a graduate of Fulton High School. She attended Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL. Janice married Glenn L. Norton on January 1, 1969, in Elvira, IA. He died August 13, 1984. Janice was employed as a clerk at the Clinton County Auditor’s Office. She was a member of Community Reformed Church in Clinton. She also volunteered her time at the Fulton Elementary School and with the Friends of the Windmill at the Cultural Center. Janice enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, and playing cards.
Survivors include two daughters, Suzanne Cruse of Le Mars, IA and Katrina Norton of Clinton, IA; two grandsons, Brennin Norton and Connor Richardson; two brothers, Harvey Geerts of Fulton, IL and Richard (Nancy) Geerts of Winter Springs, FL; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Glenn.
