Obituary for Janice Brunner
JANICE BRUNNER, 91, of Thomson, IL, died Saturday, December 18, 2021, at Big Meadows Nursing Home in Savanna, IL.
Her memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, with Rev. Ruth Lyons, Pastor of the York Community Church in Thomson and Mike Foltz co-officiating. Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation. Interment will be at Lower York Cemetery in Thomson, IL. A memorial has been established to Heartland Pet Welfare in Savanna.
Janice was born July 27, 1930, in Milledgeville, IL, to Frederick L. and Wilma C. (Wade) Miller. She was educated in the rural Carroll County Grade Schools and was a graduate of York Community High School in Thomson. She married Loyal W. Brunner on June 5, 1949, in Thomson. He died January 19, 1995. Janice was a homemaker. She later worked at Sears in Savanna and Buck’s Barn in Thomson. She was a member of the York Community Church and the Savanna Woman’s Club. She was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending the winters in Florida. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include one daughter, Debbie (Paul) Moltmann of Thomson; two sons, Jeff Brunner of Thomson and Jon (Carol) Brunner of Colona, IL; nine grandchildren, Corrie (Roger) Drish, Dallas (Ashley) Skiles, Jennifer Pannell, Amy (Craig) Palzkill, Jeremy (Katie) Groharing, Ryan (Julie) Moltmann, Ashley (Brad) Gendreau, Taylor (Allie) Brunner and Allison Brunner; twenty four great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard (Karen) Miller of Thomson; two brothers-in-law, Eugene Halfman and Merle Bielema both of Thomson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Loyal; one grandson, Christopher Groharing; three sisters, Iris Eye, Carol Bielema and Phyllis Halfman; one brother, Ivan Miller.
