Obituary for James A. Ardapple
JAMES A. ARDAPPLE, 98, of Morrison, IL, died Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Resthave Home in Morrison. Jim was born August 27, 1915, in Morrison, IL, to George H. and Anna (Klount) Ardapple. He was educated in the rural Whiteside County grade schools and was a 1933 graduate of Morrison High School. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He married Jane Heusinkveld on December 12, 1945 in Home Acres, MI. Jim was employed by the U.S. Post Office in Morrison, both as a city and rural mail carrier, for over 30 years. He was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison, and served as elder, deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was also a lifetime member of the Morrison American Legion Post #328 and the Morrison VFW Post #8281. Jim was a bingo volunteer at Resthave Home. Survivors include his wife, Jane; two daughters, Jane Ann (Marc Adami) Ardapple of Morrison and Beth Ardapple of Bass, AR; two sons, Philip Ardapple of Mt. Carroll, IL and Mark Ardapple of Morrison; eight grandchildren, Chris (Anne) Ardapple, Caren (Matt) Campbell, Kirsten (Scott Ohms) Adami, Edana (David) Hale, Leif (Mary) Kindberg, Pedro Ardapple, Mike (Jen) Kuehl, Jennifer (Tim) McCombie; fifteen great grandchildren, Tobin, Kiptyn and Maren Ardapple, Andrew Kaiser, Cade Campbell, Cale and Francesca Ohms, Eleana Hale, Noah, Isaiah and Leah Kuehl, Austin Edwards, Kelden, Ian and Ryker McCombie; one sister, Mildred Slickers of Lafayette, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Alene Vandermyde and Helen Holt.
