Obituary for Isabel B. Drury
ISABEL B. DRURY, 100, of Mercy Living Center South, Clinton, IA, formerly of Albany, IL, died Monday, August 18, 2014, at Mercy Living Center South. Isabel was born June 13, 1914, in Albany, IL, to Elmer and Mabel (MacAuley) Nelson. She was educated in the Albany Grade School and was a graduate of Albany High School in Albany, IL. Isabel married Finley P. Drury on July 30, 1935, in Albany, IL. He died July 2, 1976. Isabel was a homemaker. She was a piano player for an amateur band that played at senior meal sites and nursing homes. Isabel enjoyed playing Bridge and Scrabble, doing needlepoint, and following the activities of her family. Survivors include seven grandchildren, Dr. Michael (Tracy) Drury, Mark (Kimberly) Drury, John (Donna) Drury, Elizabeth Trautmann, Susan (Rodney) Conley, Jessica Drury, and Christopher Drury; one step granddaughter, Shelley Sakowski; and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Finley; two sons, Anthony "Tony" Drury and Dr. Richard Drury; two sisters, Hazel Ziegler and Claribel Bilderback; three brothers, Vernon, LeRoy and Lester Nelson.
