Obituary for Irene M. Huff
IRENE M. HUFF, 98, of Resthave Home, Morrison, IL, died Wednesday October 5, 2016 at Resthave Home.Irene was born August 28, 1918 in Peoria, IL to Paul and Madeline (Devogeler) Kerkhove. She was educated in the rural Hooppole and Thomas, IL schools. She married John Renner in 1937 in Thomas, IL. In 1940 she married Henry A. Emerson Sr. in Clinton, IA. She then married Robert Huff on November 24, 1966 in Morrison. He died March 25, 1981. Irene tended bar at The Spot Tavern in Morrison. She was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church in Morrison. Irene enjoyed watching TV, dancing and shuffleboard when she was younger.Survivors include two daughters, Linda (William) Roth of Morrison, IL and Catherine A. Reinders of Fenton, IL; one son, Henry A. (Diana) Emerson Jr. of Morrison, IL; one daughter-in-law, Mary Renner of Pensacola, FL; a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; one sister, Evelyn Linden of Tampico, IL; nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Huff; her son Robert F. Renner; three brothers, Dick, Frances and Walter Kerkhove.
