Obituary for Irene E. Hanson-Quade
IRENE E. HANSON-QUADE, of Sun Lakes, AZ; formerly of Albany, IL, died Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at Lund Family Hospice Home in Gilbert, AZ. Mrs. Hanson-Quade was born August 26, 1916, in Racine, WI, to C. Irving and Florence Hansen. She married E. Don Hanson in Rockford, IL in 1936, and Robert C. Quade in Wilmette, IL, in 1980. She was a dance instructor, community volunteer and a homemaker. Mrs. Hanson-Quade was a member of many organizations in Albany, including the American Legion Auxiliary, Chamber of Commerce, Albany Mounds Foundation and the Albany Library Volunteers. She was also a member of the board of directors of the Albany First Trust & Savings Bank for many years. Mrs. Hanson-Quade was an avid traveler and loved camping, dance and reading. Survivors include her children, Don (Mary Kay) Hanson, Jr. of Georgetown, TX, Beth (Jim) Wertz of Sun Lakes, AZ, and Jim (Linda) Hanson of Albany, IL; seven grandchildren, Matt (Britt) Wertz, Eric Wertz, Kristin (Brian) Hanson, Karla Hanson, Mark Hanson, Erica (Ike) Hanson, and Alex Hanson; four great grandchildren, Lukas Hanson-Puffer, Kaitlyn Hanson-Puffer, Kyra Hanson-Puffer and Avery Rose Wertz. She was preceded in death by her first and second husband, and a son, Thomas J. Hanson.
