Obituary for Ida M. Stern
IDA M. STERN, 97, of Resthave Nursing Home, Morrison, IL died Thursday, March 2, 2006 at the nursing home. Ida was born December 8, 1908 in Morrison, IL to Charles J. and Mary K. (Bogh) Bull. She was educated in the Morrison Grade School and graduated from Morrison High School. She married Harold A. Stern on May 1, 1930 in Morrison. He died March 6, 1977. Ida had lived in and around Morrison, moving to Round Grove, IL in 1944. She then moved to Morrison in 1976. She had been employed by the former Whiteside County Nursing Home and also the former Evening Side Nursing Home in Morrison. She later was employed by Vend-Omack Sales in Morrison, until her retirement. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Hopkins Township, rural Sterling, IL and the church"s Ladies Aid Society. She had been involved with the Round Grove Grade School PTA. She enjoyed crocheting, baking and cooking. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Beverly Slade of Clinton, IA and Carolyn (Mrs. Dennis) Bramm of Lyndon, IL; one son, Harold E. (Joan) Stern of Sun City West, AZ; eight grandchildren, Linda (Mrs. Steven) Hein, Tim (Tammy) Slade, Steven (Jan) Slade, Brett (Charlene) Slade, Kory (Paula) Slade; Amy Bramm; Larry (Deb) Stern, Dave (Val) Stern; eleven great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; one sister, Shirley (Mrs. Clair) Hesler of Sun City, AZ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; one great grandson, Steven Hein; three sisters, Viva Crump, Jeanette McKee and Hazel Temple; five brothers, Lyle, Herbert, Kenneth, Sherman and Lester Bull.
