Obituary for Hubert A. Flikkema
HUBERT A. FLIKKEMA, 78, of 1507 8th Avenue, Fulton, IL, died Thursday, June 3, 2010 at his home. Hubert was born October 24, 1931 in Clinton, IA, to Marvin and Cora (Holsinger) Flikkema. He was educated in the Fulton Grade Schools and was a graduate of Fulton High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving between 1952 and 1953 in the Korean Conflict. Hubert married Dianne M. Van Zuiden on May 18, 1971 in Fulton. He was engaged in farming his entire life and operated Grand View Dairy which provided home delivery of milk until 1970. He was a member of Second Reformed Church in Fulton, where he served as a deacon, Sunday School Secretary, and choir member. Survivors include his wife, Dianne; two daughters, Coral and Marlys Flikkema both of Fulton, IL; one son, Jay Flikkema of Fulton, IL; one brother, Charles (Nancy) Flikkema of Lanark, IL; two nieces and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
