Obituary for Howard Wierema
HOWARD WIEREMA, 90, of 3330 W. Dahlia, Phoenix, Arizona, died Thursday, July 22, 2010 in Phoenix. He was born August 7, 1919 in Fulton, Illinois, the son of David and Alice Wierema. He married Harriet Pessman on December 30, 1941. He operated Wierema Electric and later Wierema Well Drilling in Morrison. The family moved to Phoenix in 1965 where Howard worked for Arizona Engine and Pump. After retiring, he and Harriet took a year to travel around the whole United States. Then they built a second home in Tonto Basin, Arizona where they lived until moving back to Phoenix. He was an avid fisherman. He loved to fix things. He was a member of Christ Community Church in Phoenix.Survivors include his wife Harriet, and seven daughters: Sharon (Merle) Reisenbigler of Morrison, Lois (Steve) Andrews of Ocean Port, NJ, Vi Jones, Betty Martin, Ellen (Carl) Smith, Carol (John) Ledger, all of Phoenix and Marie Wierema of Bethel, Alaska; a sister, Elnora (Glenn) Henrichs of Milledgeville, IL; 11 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Edward and George, and a sister, Jeanette (Jacob) Wiersema.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: 11:00 AM Friday - August 27, 2010 at the Morrison Chapel - Bosma-Renkes Funeral HomeOFFICIATING: Pastor Paul Andrews, grandson of Howard, will officiate. Everyone attending, is invited to a luncheon fellowship, to be held at the Ebenezer Reformed Church, immediately following the memorial service. The church is located at 309 E. Park Street in Morrison, IL. VISITATION 10:00 AM until time of service. During this time Howards wife, Harriet plans to be present to greet and receive the support of family and friends.
