Obituary for Howard L. Bielema
HOWARD L. BIELEMA, 85, of 209 E. Park Street, Morrison, IL, died Sunday, December 31, 2006 at Trinity Medical Center West in Rock Island, IL. Howard was born December 11, 1921, in Morrison IL, to Clarence and Anna (Balk) Bielema. He attended Central College in Pella, IA and graduated from Reformed Bible Institute in Grand Rapids, MI. He married Doris R. Meuzelaar on July 31, 1957 in South Holland, IL. Howard and Doris served as missionaries at the North Park Chapel in Grand Rapids, MI from 1960 " 1964; the American Indian Chapel in Chicago, IL from 1964 " 1981; the Christian Indian Center in Salt Lake City, UT from 1982 until his retirement in 1986. After retirement, he along with his wife formed the Morrison Christian Preschool. Howard was a member of Morrison Christian Reformed Church. He was a former member of Spring Valley Reformed Church of Fulton, IL, where he served as an elder and taught Sunday school. Survivors include his wife, Doris; two daughters, Dawn (Mrs. Ralph) Willie of Berwyn, IL and Joy Coleman of Joliet, IL; one son, Keith (Pamela) Bielema of Crest Hill, IL; seven grandchildren,Richard, Jason and Danielle Bielema; Jeremy and Kristina Willie; Nicole Coleman and Thomas (Ofelia) Coleman, Jr.,five great grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth (Mrs. Robert) Venema of Fulton, IL and Esther (Mrs. Dick) Ebbers of Morrison, IL; two brothers, Stan (Marge) Bielema and Kenneth Bielema, both of Fulton, IL. He was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Bielema.
