Obituary for Herbert J. Badtke
HERBERT J. BADTKE, 87, of 502 Meadow Lane, Morrison, IL, died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2006 at Morrison Community Hospital in Morrison, IL. Herbert was born February 13, 1919, in Low Moor, IA to Frank A. and Anna W. (Bier) Badtke. He moved to a farm north of Morrison when he was a young boy, and attended the Cobb School in rural Whiteside Co. He married Althea A. Beveroth on October 19, 1941 in Morrison, IL. She died Sept. 27, 1995. Herbert and his wife engaged in farming in Ustick Twp. in rural Whiteside Co. for 38 years. He moved to Morrison upon his retirement in 1979. He was a member of St. Peter"s Lutheran Church in Morrison, had served as Ustick Twp. trustee for 20 years, was a charter member of the National Cattlemen"s Association, a member of the Whiteside Co. Farm Bureau and served on the Ag Advisory Committee at Morrison High School. Herbert loved bowling, and the Chicago Cubs. Survivors include two sons, Larry (Barbara) Badtke of Sterling, IL and Dennis Badtke; two grandchildren, Stephanie (Nick) Boncuore of Lake In The Hills, IL and Bill (Shayla) Corbiser of Clinton, IA ; two great grandchildren, Brooke Corbiser and Alex Boncuore; one sister, Marge (Dwight) Kettler of Morrison, IL; a special friend, Carlene Bechtel of Morrison. He was preceded in death by his wife, one daughter, Judith Ann; two sisters Dorothy Huizenga and Frieda McTigue; two brothers, Albert and Henry Badtke.
