Obituary for Helen M. Smith
HELEN M. SMITH, 89, of Resthave Nursing Home, Morrison, IL, died Saturday, September 1, 2007 at the nursing home. Helen was born September 25, 1917 in Morrison, IL, to Joshua and Ida (Wolber) Wells. She was educated in the Unionville grade school of rural Whiteside County and was a graduate of Morrison High School. Helen married John H. Smith on August 17, 1946 in Sterling, IL. He died September 20, 1998. She was employed by Climco and by the former National Tea Grocery Store both of Morrison. She was a member of the Morrison United Methodist Church, the church"s United Methodist Women and had served as a Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and baking. Survivors include one son, Steve (Delores "Dee") Smith of Morrison; two granddaughters, Jennifer Smith and Kimberly Smith; one sister, Mrs. Marian Gallagher of Shepherd, MI; and one brother, James Robert (Bernice) Wells of Morton, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband, John and one brother, Laurence Wells.
