Obituary for Harold R. Tucker
HAROLD R. TUCKER, 86, of 15113 Yale Road, Fulton, IL, died Thursday, January 6, 2011 at his home. Harold was born January 2, 1925 in Clinton, IA, to Henry and Elizabeth (Slaymaker) Tucker. He was educated in the Spring Creek grade school of rural Whiteside County and was a graduate of Erie High School in Erie, IL. He married Anabelle M. Nelson on June 18, 1947 in Morrison. Harold owned and operated a milk route for several years. He then was employed by FS Services as a truck driver, until his retirement in 1987. Following his retirement, he worked part time farming with the Snyder"s. Harold was a member, elder, and trustee of the Garden Plain Presbyterian Church. He also was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge #363 in Clinton, IA and an officer of the Garden Plain Central Cemetery in rural Fulton. Harold enjoyed people, camping, traveling, and dancing. It was said about him that "He never met a stranger". Survivors include his wife, Anabelle; one daughter, Patricia (Donald) Houzenga of Terre Haute, IN; two sons, Roger (Sharon) Tucker of Fulton, IL and Raymond (Jolene) Tucker of Morrison, IL; seven grandchildren, Andrew (Candis) Houzenga, Nikki (Randy Foote) Heng, Danelle (Larry) McNeece, Troy (Joyce) Tucker, Melissa Tucker, Tiffany (Chad) Hudson, and Rachel Tucker; and twelve great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one great granddaughter, Brianna Houzenga; and one brother, Robert Tucker.
