Obituary for Harold P. Sikkema
HAROLD P. SIKKEMA, 84, of 1312 8th Avenue, Fulton, IL, died Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Harbor Crest Nursing Home in Fulton. Harold was born March 20, 1927, in Clinton, IA, to Harold L. and Minnie (Heusinkveld) Sikkema. He was educated in the Fulton grade schools and was a 1945 graduate of Fulton High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Harold married Vivian M. Wilkins on February 10, 1950 in Fulton. She died February 14, 2011. He was a member of Second Reformed Church in Fulton and served on the consistory and other men"s groups. He was a member of the Fulton American Legion Post #402. Harold enjoyed bowling, furniture restoration, wood carving of decoys and ducks, fishing and coin collecting. Survivors include one daughter, Barb (Rich) Milton of Fulton; one son, Paul (Lisa) Sikkema of Fulton; five grandchildren, Colin Milton, Jeff Milton, Shane (Kelly) Sikkema, Patricia (Tim) Tammen, Amanda Sikkema. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian; one sister, Miriam Dykema.
