Obituary for Harold F. Glazier
HAROLD F. GLAZIER, 89, of Sterling, IL, died Thursday, October 25, 2012, at his home. Harold was born May 15, 1923, in Broadland, SD, to Rex A. and Lyda A. (Vaughn) Glazier. He was educated in the Wolsey and Huron, South Dakota schools and graduated from Lyndon, IL High School in 1941. Harold was also a graduate of the Rock Island Business School in Rock Island, IL. He joined the United States Army Airforce in December 1942. He married Agnes E. Johnson on August 15, 1964, in Morrison, IL. She died October 22, 2011. Harold worked for Keeshin Motor Express in Sterling, IL, before joining the Army Airforce. He then worked for Whiteside FS, in the petroleum division, in Lyndon, IL, from January 1951 to January 1986. Harold was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Morrison, where he served in every capacity on the church board. He was also a member of the Morrison American Legion Post #328. Survivors include one son, Kurt (Roxanne) Glazier of Sterling, IL; two grandchildren, Samantha and Sydney Glazier; three stepgrandchildren, Danielle and Derek Wade and Rayce Yohn; and one brother, Keith (Mary Ann) Glazier of Tucson, AZ. He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes; three sisters, Alice Vollenweider, Ethel Bowen, and Mary Warner; two brothers, Everett and Floyd Glazier.
