Obituary for Grace Niki Van Zuiden
GRACE "NIKI" VAN ZUIDEN, 81, of 927 3rd Avenue, Fulton, IL, died Monday, November 23, 2009 at her home. Grace was born December 15, 1927 in Altoona, PA to Francis R. and Anna Regina (Hesser) Carroll. She was educated in the Altoona Grade School and was a graduate of Altoona High School. She married Burton E. Van Zuiden, Sr. on November 16, 1952 in Fulton. He died February 1, 1994. Niki was employed as a telephone operator for the Clinton Phone Company. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fulton and the church"s Altar & Rosary Society. Niki enjoyed sewing during her younger years. The companionship of her pets and spending time with her family and friends meant a great deal to her. Survivors include two sons, Burton (Novella) Van Zuiden, Jr. of Fulton, IL and Allen J. (Vicky) Van Zuiden of Bettendorf, IA; five grandchildren, Joshua (Courtney) Van Zuiden; Justin Van Zuiden, Jacqueline Van Zuiden, Erica Van Zuiden, and Aaron Van Zuiden. She was preceded in death by her husband; two sisters, Mary Kathryn "Kay" Keegan and AnneJean Laible; and one brother, Thomas Carroll.
