Obituary for Gerald Schaver
GERALD SCHAVER, 75, of Fulton, IL, died Thursday, July 8, 2021 at the University of IA Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA.
His funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 15, 2021 at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Steve Lingle of River Church in Clinton, IA. A visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 14th at the funeral home. Interment will be in Fulton Township Cemetery. A memorial has been established.
Gerald was born July 2, 1946 in Morrison, IL to Marion W. and Rena K. (Brackemyer) Schaver. He was educated in the Delhi and Prairie Center Grade Schools in rural Whiteside County, and was a 1966 graduate of Morrison High School. On November 13, 1970 he married Linda D. Pessman in Fulton. Gerald was employed as a truck driver and later worked for the Farmer’s Elevator in Morrison for 37 years, until retiring. He was a member of River Church in Clinton. Gerald enjoyed spending time with his family, remodeling houses and aqua-sizing. He was an avid bowler and was a member of the Fulton Bowling League.
Survivors include his wife, Linda; beloved dog, Sassy; one brother, Dale (Edith) Schaver of Fulton; two sisters, Diane Judd and Thelma Schaver, both of Clinton; one sister-in-law, Sandy Huisenga of Savanna, IL; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother-in-law, Roger Huisenga; several uncles and aunts.
