Obituary for Genevieve M. Klavenga
GENEVIEVE M. KLAVENGA, 83, of 1102 3rd Avenue, Fulton, IL, died Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at her home. Genevieve was born June 6, 1927 in Fulton, IL, to Arthur and Mary (Wiersema) Maat. She was educated in the Spring Valley school of rural Whiteside County, IL. She married Henry Klavenga on November 3, 1950 in Fulton, IL. Genevieve was a member of the Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Fulton, the church"s Mary and Martha Circle, and had served as a Sunday School Teacher"s Aid. She was also an active volunteer for many years for the Unity Christian School in Fulton. She enjoyed cross stitching, flower gardening, traveling, music, and word puzzles. Survivors include her husband, Henry; three daughters, Nancy (Bob) Kilgore of Peoria, AZ; Janet (Mike) Gray of Erie, IL; and Linda (Bud) Morrison of Champaign, IL; two sons, Art (Claudette) Klavenga of Morrison, IL and Ray Klavenga of Fulton, IL; eight grandchildren, Katrina (Matt) Van Horn, Alexandra Kilgore, Samantha (Taylor) Eberle, Jackie Kilgore, Rachel (Nick) Ballard, Joseph Gray, David Gray, and Jessica Treakle; one step grandchild, Tim Null; two great grandchildren, Nicholas and Victoria Ballard; two step great grandchildren, Carlee and Travis Null. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Barbara Kramer.
