Obituary for Gene H. Yarbrough
GENE YARBROUGH, 75, of 513 E. Main St., Morrison, IL, died Sunday, February 28, 2010, at Morrison Community Hospital. Gene was born September 26, 1934, in Morrison, to Howard and Della (Van Kampen) Yarbrough. He attended Fulton Grade School in Fulton, IL. He married Lois M. Pruis on April 13, 1956 in Morrison. She died August 27, 1980. He later married Marcia Shierry on August 3, 1981. Gene was employed by Patent Novelty Co. in Fulton and later he worked for G.E. in Morrison for 34 years. He enjoyed collecting toy tractors and listening to country music. Survivors include his wife, Marcia; three daughters, Linda (Scott) Weets and Patricia (Fredy Jr.) Hadley, both of Morrison, and Jackie (Joel) Collins of Fulton, IL; one son, Scott Yarbrough of Morrison, IL; two step daughters, Leslie (Allen) Wagenecht of Morrison, IL and Cheryl (Mike) Bratcher of Keller, TX; two grandchildren, Britney and Matthew Weets; nine step grandchildren, Andrea (Chad) Wolever, Jennifer (Craig) Dornbush, Aimee Wagenecht, Sonna Endicott, Tracy (Mitch) Gardner, Melissa (Eric) Laffoon, Bradley, Bridget, and Jamie Bratcher; one sister, Carol (Donald) Hook of Fulton, IL. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lois; one step son, Mark Hurd.
