Obituary for Gary Brandt
GARY BRANDT, 70, of Dixon, IL, died Monday, May 30, 2022, at Generations at Neighbors in Byron, IL.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Cremation rites have been accorded. The Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL. A memorial has been established.
Gary was born July 31, 1951, in Morrison, IL, to Edward and Dorothy (Allen) Brandt. He was educated in the Morrison Grade Schools and was a graduate of Morrison High School. He then received his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Bradley University in Peoria, IL. He married Judith Lowry in Grand Detour, IL. She died January 14, 2013. He owned and operated, American Surveying and Engineering, P.C., retiring in 2022. Gary was an avid musician and enjoyed playing the piano in his band, Sky, Morning Rain and Others.
Survivors include one daughter, Tiffany (George) Markel of Dixon, IL; one step son, Todd Bishop of Dixon, IL; three grandchildren, Luke, Noah and Emily Markel; one sister, Donna Penhollow of Arizona; one brother, Allen Brandt of Port Orchid, WA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Judith Brandt.
