Obituary for Freda Mae Wilson
FREDA MAE WILSON, 88, of Resthave Nursing Home in Morrison, IL died Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at the nursing home. Freda was born on October 19, 1920 in Barry, IL to Edward E. and Jessie F. (Hinch) Blair. She was educated in the Barry, IL grade schools. She married James A. Wilson on August 19, 1939 in New London, MO. He preceded her in death on November 25, 1978. She later married Edward N. King on May 12, 1995 in Morrison, IL. Freda owned and operated restaurants in Niota, IL and Stronghurst, IL. She was then employed by Swift & Company in Clinton, IA. She managed a county foster home in Sterling, IL and was later a Dietary Aid for CGH Medical Center in Sterling, IL. She then owned and operated Fifi"s Spot in Morrison, IL until her retirement. Freda enjoyed collecting porcelain dolls, working puzzles, and playing cards. She enjoyed the company of family and friends. She was the Valentine Queen at Resthave Nursing Home and she loved to participate in all activities held at the nursing home. Survivors include her husband, Edward; one daughter, Phyllis (David) Douglass; one daughter-in-law, Tammy Wilson of Morrison, IL; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; one brother, Darrell (Doris) Blair of Washington, IL; one sister-in-law, Mae Blair of Morrison, IL; and one special foster son, Rick Huff of Sterling, IL. She was preceded in death by her first husband, James; one daughter, Patricia Hamman; one son, Jim Wilson; one sister, Florine Starr; and one brother, Dean Blair.
