Obituary for Frances M. Rus
FRANCES M. RUS, 87, of 703 Valley View Drive, Fulton, IL, died Friday, April 11, 2008 at her home. Frances was born November 27, 1920, in Garden Pain, IL, to Fred and Anna (Geerts) Fiet. She married Ray W. Rus on April 3, 1940 in Garden Plain. He died September 24, 1993. Frances taught music lessons from her home. She also had worked at Renier"s Music Studio in Clinton, IA; Harbor Crest Nursing Home in Fulton; Nielson"s in Clinton and as the head cook at the River Bend School District in Fulton. She was a member of the First Reformed Church in Fulton where she had served as organist for 50 years. She played the organ for many weddings and funerals in the area, and was involved with the Helping Hand and the King"s Daughters at the church. She was a member of the Harbor Crest Auxiliary and the Fulton Country Club. Survivors include two daughters, Lynne (Mrs. William) Loerop, of Fulton, IL and Joan (Mrs. Keith) Faber of Arlington Heights, IL; one son, Arlyn (Claire) Rus of Naples FL and Bridgewater NJ; nine grandchildren, Kimberley (Mrs. Steve) DeWar, Steven Rus, Kathleen (Mrs. Jon) Rager, Michael (Connie) Rus, Susan (Mrs. Wayne) Foss, James (Lynn) Loerop, Thomas Loerop, Christopher (Shannon) Faber, Brian Faber; twenty one great grandchildren; one sister, Wilma (Mrs. Vincent) Hoogheem of Fulton, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray; three brothers, Everett, Alvin and Allen Fiet.
