Obituary for Frances A. Medema
FRANCES A. MEDEMA, 89, of #4 Genesee Court, Morrison, IL, died Monday, January 23, 2006, at Resthave Nursing Home, Morrison, IL. Frances was born August 21, 1916 in Morrison, IL, to Albert and Freda (Klount) Bush. She graduated from Center School of rural Morrison, IL. She married Joseph V. Medema on November 27, 1936 in Morrison. He died November 24, 1992. Frances was employed at Rich Toy factory and I.C.A. in Morrison, before her marriage. She then farmed with her late husband, southwest of Morrison, for 56 years, moving to Morrison in 1969. She was also employed by General Electric in Morrison for 20 years, retiring in 1979. Frances was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison, the church"s Ladies Aid and Lydian Societies and was a choir member for 36 years. She was also a member of the Whiteside County Farm Bureau and had served 21 years as a Union Grove Township Election Judge. Survivors include a son, Alan (Joyce) Medema of Morrison, IL; two grandchildren, Lori (Mrs. Samuel) Mays of Brice, OH and Joel Medema (Mary Milligan) of Fulton, IL; two great grandsons, Ben Mays and Bart Mays of Brice, OH; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Irene Bush of Morrison, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; five sisters, Jennie Voss, Edna Dykema, and three quadruplets who died at birth; and three brothers, Jacob, Paul, and Alfred Bush.
