Obituary for Florence G. Wiersema
FLORENCE G. WIERSEMA, 83, of 15049 Lyndon Road, Morrison, IL, died Sunday, June 4, 2006 at her home. Florence was born May 7, 1923, in Garden Plain, IL to Fred and Bertha (Vogel) Boelkens. She was educated in the Albany Grade School and the Fox Grade School in rural Carroll County, IL. She married Marvin Wiersema on December 1, 1944 in Argo Fay, IL. He died July 28, 2001. Florence farmed with her late husband in the rural Thomson and Rock Falls, IL areas. She then owned and operated the Wiersema Charter Service of Morrison, IL. She was a member of the Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison. She was a previous member of the Spring Valley Reformed Church in Fulton, and also the Bethel Reformed Church in Sterling, IL, where she taught Sunday school. She enjoyed keeping a garden, sewing, keeping house, cooking and baking for all the kids and grandchildren. Survivors include three daughters, Carleen (Mrs. Mick) Fisher of Fulton, IL; Carolyn Wiersema of Morrison, IL and Cheryl (Mrs. Todd) Kullerstrand of Lyndon, IL; one son, Larry L. (Jan) Wiersema of Morrison, IL; nine grandchildren, Christine (Fred) Reedy, Rana Barsema; Tracy and Karen Richmond; Chelsie (Eric) Van Dyke, Tyson and Chana Kullerstrand; Eric (Lisa) Wiersema, Gregg Wiersema and fiancee, Jackie Adolph; two great grandchildren, Kaley Lindsay and Hailey Wiersema; one sister, Ida May Stuart of Morrison, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; one grandson, Nolan Richmond; one sister, Bernice Kooi-Faber; one brother, Clarence Boelkens.
