Obituary for Evelyn Jean Norman

EVELYN JEAN NORMAN, 90, of the Alverno Health Care Facility in Clinton, IA, formerly of Fulton, IL, died Monday, September 7, 2015 at the Alverno. Jean was born May 28, 1925, in Ustick Township, IL, to George and Elsie (DeVries) Medema. She was educated in the rural Whiteside County grade schools and attended Fulton High School in Fulton, IL. Jean married Gerald L. "Jocko" Norman on April 6, 1949, in Fulton, IL. She was a member of First Reformed Church in Fulton and the church"s King"s Daughters. She was a Red Cross volunteer for 25 years and also a member of Fulton Country Club. Jean enjoyed needlework, bus trips, and was an avid reader. Survivors include her husband, Jocko; two sons, Lonnie (Gail) Norman of Downingtown, PA and James (Laura) Norman of Clinton, IA; seven grandchildren, Sarah (Kurt) Barker, Mark (April) Norman, Dan (Abby) Norman, Emily Norman, Kyle Norman, Lindsey Norman, and Molly Norman; eight great-grandchildren, Jack, Ryan, and Sam Barker; Anders and Asa Norman; Huck, Leela, and Tate Norman. She was preceded in death by her parents; and three sisters, Clara Medema, Margaret "Marge"Wiebenga, and Mary Tegeler.
