Obituary for Evelyn C. Landheer
EVELYN C. LANDHEER, 95, of Resthave Home in Morrison, IL, died Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Resthave Home.

The funeral service will be at 10:00 AM Monday, April 23, 2018 at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, with Mr. Ken Renkes officiating. A visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Sunday, April 22, 2018 at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison. A memorial has been established.

Evelyn was born May 29, 1922 in Fulton, IL, to Rencie and Alice (Newendyke) Dyke. She was a 1940 graduate of Morrison High School. On June 21, 1944 she married Walter E. Landheer in Morrison. He died August 13, 1987. Evelyn worked at the utility company in Morrison before her marriage, and as a housewife and helped on the farm after she was married. Evelyn was a member of the Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison and the church’s Philathea Society, worked in the church kitchen for funeral luncheons and banquets and taught Catechism. She was also a member of the Resthave Home Auxiliary and the Mother’s Club of the rural McAllister School. Evelyn enjoyed farm life, going out to eat, playing cards and spending time with family and friends. She especially enjoyed her daughter Karen’s little dog, Sammy Jo, coming to Resthave Home every day to see her, lying on her lap and giving her “kisses” on the chin.

Survivors include one daughter, Karen Landheer of Morrison, IL; one son, Gary (Diana) Landheer of Morrison, IL, two grandchildren, Andrea Landheer and Jamie Landheer; six great grandchildren, Kurstin, Tristyn, Ciara, Braden, Paityn, and Jace; three step grandchildren, Jessie, Tadd and Michelle; four step great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter; two sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law.
