EVELYN C. IRION, 101, died Friday, August 9, 2013, at Resthave Nursing Home in Morrison, IL. Evelyn was born January 14, 1912, in Ustick Township, IL, to Albert D. and Etta C. (Body) Matthew. She was educated in the Spring Valley School of rural Whiteside County and attended Morrison High School. She married Russell Irion on September 12, 1933 in Fulton, IL. He died May 22, 1981. Evelyn was a homemaker and was also employed by the former Ice Box Restaurant in Morrison after moving to Morrison in 1957. She was a member of the Morrison United Methodist Church and the Rebekahs Society. Survivors include one daughter, Jan O"Malley of San Jose, CA; one son, Lavern (Mary) Irion of Paola, KS; five grandchildren: Steve (Debbie) O"Malley, Juli Kling, Cathy (Wayne) Phillips, Beth (Bruce) Fong, Shelly (Tom) Buehler; eight great grandchildren, Ashlee, Kailee and Cory Kling, Lauren, Michael, Sarah and Ian Buehler, Marianna Fong; one brother, Warren B. (Jeanine) Matthew of Ventura, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell; one sister, Lois Ross; three brothers, Leonard, Howard and Elmer Matthew.
