Obituary for Evelyn Beswick
EVELYN BESWICK, 84, of Morrison, IL, died Monday, November 11, 2019, at Resthave Home in Morrison.
Her funeral service will be 11:00 AM Friday, November 15, 2019, at Emmanuel Reformed Church in Morrison preceded by visitation from 9:30 AM until the time of the service. Rev. Al Pruis, Interim Pastor, will officiate. Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison. A memorial has been established to Rock River Hospice and Home in Sterling, IL.
Evelyn was born May 27, 1935, in Morrison, to Martin and Inez (Bonneur) Balk. She attended Fulton Grade Schools and was a graduate of Fulton High School. Evelyn married Arnold “Arnie” Beswick on July 1, 1954, in the First Reformed Church in Fulton. Evelyn was employed by General Electric in Morrison, for over 35 years retiring in 1995. She loved spending time with her family and was always there to support Arnie in his farming operation and his racing career. She enjoyed watching sporting events of her children and grandchildren and the many events they were involved in. Evelyn enjoyed watching the Game Show Network, shows about animals, NASCAR, and professional drag racing. She enjoyed playing board and card games. She was a member of the Morrison United Methodist Church and the GEM Club.
Survivors include her husband, Arnold “Arnie”; four daughters, Arnette (Duane) Stralow of Rock Falls, IL; Paula (Dale) Wiersema of Morrison; Michele (Steve Swazay) Beswick of Chantilly, VA; and Rhonda (Chris) Mitchell of Edmond, OK; eight grandchildren, Nathan (Angie) Stralow, Brianne (Shawn) Price and Megan (Nick) Bernitt; Aaron (Andrea Henrey) Wiersema and Ryan (Cassie) Wiersema; Taylor (Barak) Blalock; Isabella and Devin Mitchell; thirteen great-grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; and one sister, Lois (Robert) Wiebenga of Morrison.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Mildred Balk.
