Obituary for Eugene A. Elmendorf
EUGENE A. ELMENDORF, 82, of 11880 Harvey Road, Morrison, IL, died Monday, April 3, 2006 at his home. Eugene was born November 4, 1923 in Morrison, IL, to Levi C. and Bertha (LaDine) Elmendorf. He was educated in the Union Grove Township, graduating from Morrison High School in 1942. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII on the U.S.S. Hope. Following his time in the service, he returned to the family farm in the rural Morrison, IL area, where he lived and farmed his entire life. He was a member of the Morrison United Methodist Church, of the Morrison American Legion Post #328 and of the Morrison VFW Post #8281. He was also a member of the Morrison Oddfellows Lodge and of AARP. Survivors include two nieces, Jean L. Coan of Rockford, IL and Carolyn (Mrs. Bruce) Munson of Loveland, CO; two nephews, Robert (Kay) Schipper of Omaha, NE and Gail Kent (Marty) Schipper of Show Low, AZ. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Laura Schipper and Vera Gross.
