Obituary for Esther B. Tichler
ESTHER B. TICHLER, 89, of 13013 Crosby Road, Morrison, IL, died Friday, December 10, 2010 at her home. Esther was born May 11, 1921 in Fulton, IL, to Thomas C. and Kate (Fossen) Huizenga. She was educated in the Fulton Grade Schools and was a graduate of Fulton High School. Esther married Donald L. Tichler on January 22, 1943 in Fulton, IL. He died October 29, 1992. Esther farmed along with her late husband, Don, in the rural Morrison area. Esther was a member of the Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison and the church"s Ladies Aid Society. She enjoyed sewing and was know to many as the "Peach Lady". Survivors include one daughter, Donna (Rod) McCanse of Dowagiac, MI; two sons, Vern E. (Barb) Tichler and Gary (Ruth) Tichler both of Morrison, IL; eleven grandchildren, Betsy McCanse, Kate (Jon) Van Lente, Andrew McCanse, Emily (Amir) Rahemi, Megan McCanse, Donald Tichler, Elizabeth Tichler, Nicole (Jason) Van Lente, Anita (Calvin) Maxwell, Beth (Dan) Douglas, and Brianna (Matt) Hook; twelve great grandchildren; one half brother, Thomas (Carolyn) Huizenga, Jr. of Glendale, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; one brother, George T. Huizenga and one half sister, Betty Thompson.
