Obituary for Epe Boerema
EPE R. BOEREMA, 99, of Harbor Crest Nursing Home, Fulton, IL, died Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at the nursing home. Epe was born November 14, 1907, in Kaston, Holland, to Ralph and Stella (Blink) Boerema. He attended rural Whiteside County and Fulton grade schools. He married Pearl D. Pessman on February 14, 1934, in Fulton, IL. She died May 31, 1976. He then married Edna R. Buxton on December 22, 1984 in Clinton, IA. She died on June 1, 2003. He farmed his entire life in the rural Fulton and Morrison areas, retiring in 1977. He was a member of Second Reformed Church in Fulton, IL and was a member of the Whiteside County Farm Bureau. Survivors include one brother-in-law, Wesley Pessman of Garden Plain, IL; two step daughters, Ruby Arlene (Mrs. Dennis) Hass-Speers of DeWitt, IA and Julia (Mrs. Neil) Houzenga of Thomson, IL; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both wives, Pearl and Edna.
