Obituary for Eleanor J. Tervelt
ELEANOR J. TERVELT, 86, of 406 Elm Street, Morrison, IL, died Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at Four Seasons Living Center in Morrison. Eleanor was born July 7, 1921, in Clinton, IA, to Ralph and Mary (Bonneur) Holesinger. She was educated in the Whiteside County schools of rural Fulton and Morrison, IL. She married Marvin C. Tervelt on February 21, 1940 in Morrison. She was employed as a cook for various area restaurants and clubs. She was also employed as a cook at the Morrison High School cafeteria, and then owned and operated Eleanor"s Dining Room in Morrison for several years. After retirement, she and her husband did janitorial work at local banks in Morrison. She was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison, IL. Eleanor will be sorely missed by a loving husband. Survivors include her husband, Marvin; one daughter Larinda Tervelt of Atlanta, GA; three sons, Richard (Bonnie) Tervelt of Burlington, NC, Ronald (Carole) Tervelt of Clayton, CA, and Larry (Debra) Tervelt of Loves Park, IL; eleven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, two sisters, Adeline (Mrs. Wilbur) Port of Sterling, IL, and Ramona (Mrs. Roland) Van Zuiden of Morrison, IL; one brother, Vernon (Mary) Holesinger of Mt. Carroll, IL She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Marvin and Gerald Holesinger.
