ELAINE MARR, 77, of Clinton, IA, died Monday, September 23, 2024, at The Alverno in Clinton, IA.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral services, and cremation rites have been accorded. The Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A memorial has been established to The Alverno.
Dorothy was born June 17, 1947, in Anna, IL, to James and Mary (Lange) Bracken. She attended Sauk Valley Community College in Dixon, IL, where she earned an Associate's Degree to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). She married Gary L. Marr on August 18, 1997, in Morrison, IL. He died November 21, 2010. Dorothy spent her career as a dedicated nurse, working at Morrison Hospital and in various other medical and care facilities. She liked to fish and was known for her talent in baking, both hobbies she enjoyed throughout her life.
Survivors include one daughter, Pat (Harvey) Oudekerk of Yuma, AZ; two sons, William Hutchison of Lanark, IL and Scott Hutchison of Fulton, IL; two stepdaughters, Christie Newsom and Angi Determan; two stepsons, Gary Lee Marr, Jr. and Benjamin Marr; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-granddaughter on the way; one sister, Carol Pierce; two brothers, Jerry and Darrel Bracken.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gary; one sister, Mary Bracken; six brothers, Jimmy Bracken, Floyd and Kenneth Dixon, Ron, Don and Tom Hammond.
