Obituary for Edward C. Guth
EDWARD C. ED GUTH, 86, of Fulton, IL, formerly of Orland Park, IL and Chicago, IL, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at the Brentwood Health Care Center in Riverwoods, IL, following a prolonged illness.Mr. Guth was born October 19, 1923 in Chicago to William and Lydia (Rau) Guth. He was educated in the Chicago grade schools and graduated from Harper High School in Chicago. He also attended Wilson Junior College in Chicago. He married the girl of his dreams, the former Martha Swanson, on June 2, 1945. He had worked as a carpenter for The City of Chicago for 33 years. Family life was of the greatest importance to him. In addition to his rich family life and cherished friendships, he enjoyed his cars, building things using his tools, playing cards, gardening and observing nature. Ed was always willing to lend a helping hand to his friends and neighbors. Ed is survived by his loving wife, Martha; three daughters, Beverly (Tihomir) Mijatovitch, Linda (Jerry) Bish and Carolyn Brzezinski; one son-in-law, Craig Faulkner; eight grandchildren, Mark Faulkner, Brian Faulkner, Kathryn (Bish) Hunecke, Maris Bush, Natalie Smith, Michael Mijatovich, Julia Smith and Anna Mijatovich; two great grandchildren, Brady and Wade Faulkner.He was preceded in death by his dear daughter, Barbara Faulkner.
