Obituary for Edward A. Ned Mitchell
EDWARD A. NED MITCHELL, 71, of Albany, IL, died Thursday, September 14, 2017 at his home.Ned was born March 1, 1946, in Clinton, IA, to David W. and Jane M. (Cummins) Mitchell. He was a 1964 graduate of Fulton High School. He was a veteran, serving in the U. S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He married Rhonda Borgman in 1971, they later divorced. He then married Willa Fisher-Ware on July 20, 1994 in Clinton, IA. Ned was employed by Chicago Northwestern Railroad for 35 years. He was later employed by the Union Pacific in DeSoto, MO, retiring in 2006. Ned enjoyed cat fishing and the Chicago Cubs. He was a Civil War enthusiast.Survivors include his wife, Willa; one daughter, A. J. (Kelly) Carder of Clinton, IA; two sons, Dan (Bridget) Mitchell of Clinton, IA and Josh (Amy) Mitchell of Fulton, IL; a step-daughter, Jennifer Hobbs of Fulton, IL; a step-son, Jonas (Rebecca) Hobbs of Fulton, IL; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a sister, Luanne (Len) Meeks of Dry Fork, VA; three brothers, Charles J. Mitchell of Maryland, Jon (Sue) Mitchell of Fulton, IL and Tad (Nancy) Mitchell of Republic, MO. Also left is his loving K-9 companion, Hampton.He was preceded in death by his parents; one step-son, Jason Hobbs; one brother, David W. Mitchell.
