Obituary for Dr. Gerald L. Mance
GERALD L. "DOC" MANCE " Dr. of Chiropractic, 64, of Morrison, IL, died Monday, October 21, 2013, at his home. Doc was born October 8, 1949, in Chattanooga, TN, to Wiley L. and Florence (Newman) Mance. He received his Bachelor"s Degree at Hamilton University and later his Doctorate at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA. Doc owned and operated Mance Chiropractic in Morrison for 35 years. He belonged to the Dunlap Masonic Lodge #321 " AF & AM in Morrison and was a 32" Mason. Doc was also a member of the Knight-Sovereign Military Order of the Temple of Jerusalem, and the Sons of the Confederate Veterans. He was fond of all shooting sports, fast cars, and restoring old red tractors. He enjoyed working on older cars, horseback riding, and hammering iron. Above all, Doc loved helping people Doc was a good man who will be greatly missed by all of those who knew him. Survivors include one nephew, David McGhee of Phoenix, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Peggy and Patricia; and one brother, Thomas.
