Obituary for Dorothy M. Moews
DOROTHY M. MOEWS, 92, of Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Center in Prophetstown, IL, died Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at the center. Dorothy was born March 12, 1921, in Delavan, IL, to Elmer and Frances (Curtis) Varney. She was educated in the Tampico, IL, grade schools and graduated from Tampico High School. She married Howard R. Moews on December 15, 1942, in Yorktown, IL. He died March 25, 1985. Dorothy and her late husband farmed in the rural Prophetstown, IL area for 22 years. She later worked with her husband at Moews Electric, in Prophetstown, IL. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Prophetstown. Survivors include one son, Douglas (Peggy) Moews of Brookfield, WI; one daughter, Sandra (Kelly) Little of Champaign, IL; one granddaughter, Emily (Chris) Schuenke; two great grandsons, Sam and Eli Schuenke; one brother, Curtis (Ramona) Varney of Sterling, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard, and one sister, Doris Varney.
