Obituary for Dorothy M. Bush
DOROTHY M. BUSH, 96, of 302 S. Base St., Morrison, IL, died Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at Four Seasons Living Center in Morrison, IL.Dorothy was born January 26, 1911, in Rock Rapids, IA, to Albert and Vivian (Gates) Parkinson. She attended the LeMars, IA grade and high schools and graduated from high school in Sioux City, IA. She married Louis Bush on January 26, 1937 in Morrison, IL. He died August 15, 2004. She farmed along with her husband in the rural Morrison, IL area, retiring in 1985. She was a member of the Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison, where she taught catechism for 8 years, the 5th and 6th grade youth group, and Bible school for 12 years. She was a member of the churchs Lydian Society and the Mary Bible Study Circle. She enjoyed crocheting and quilting.Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Dieter of Oswego, IL and Corinne (Mrs. Frank) Ventura of Morrison, IL; two sons, Lyle (Gretchen) Bush of Morrison, IL and Gail (Janice) Bush of Galt, IL; twelve grandchildren, Glen Dieter, Cheri (Mrs. Don) Little, Dottie (Mrs. Mike) Stockon, Rachel (Mrs. Dave) Lumbert, Lori Bush, Trent (Heather) Bush, Todd (Casey) Bush, Eric (Kay) Bush, Troy (Kim) Bush, Tony (Nicky) Ventura, Phil (Nancy Jo) Ventura, Charles Ventura; twenty-four great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; two sisters, Thelma Conrady of Massillon, OH and Genevieve (Fred) Piper of Sequin, WA; one brother, Robert (Vi) Parkinson of Morrison, IL.She was preceded in death by one grandson, Rick Ventura; one sister, Alberta Loughe, one brother, Donald Parkinson; one son-in-law, Jim Dieter.
