Obituary for Dorothy M. Brackemyer
DOROTHY M. BRACKEMYER, 93, of Resthave Home, Morrison, IL, died Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at the Home. Dorothy was born April 14, 1921, in Morrison, IL, to Garrett and Helen (Mulnix) Meyer. She was educated in the Morrison grade schools and attended Morrison High School. Dorothy married Jacob J. Brackemyer on August 3, 1938, in Morrison, IL. He died December 3, 2004. Dorothy was employed with the Iowa Department of Transportation as a toll attendant. She was a member of the Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison. She also belonged to the Mendota Antique Car Club. She enjoyed collecting antiques. Survivors include one daughter, Malinda (Don) Galloway of Monroe City, MO; one son, Steven (Nadine) Brackemyer of Rochelle, IL; six grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob; one daughter, Carol in infancy; one son and one daughter-in-law, Garrett (Carole) Brackemyer.
