Obituary for Dorothy J. Decker-Boonstra
DOROTHY J. DECKER - BOONSTRA, 85, of Morrison, IL, died Monday, September 16, 2013, at her home. Dorothy was born November 17, 1927, in Morrison, IL, to Dewey and Johanna (Bielema) Hamstra. She was educated in Morrison and was a graduate of Morrison High School. She married Harold Decker on September 14, 1946, in Morrison, IL. He died April 8, 1995. She later married Frank J. Boonstra on April 8, 1997, in Morrison, IL. He died April 17, 2006. Dorothy was employed by General Electric in Morrison for 25 years. She was a member of the Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison, where she was active in the Philathea Society and the Martha Bible Society. She taught Catechism in the 1940"s. Dorothy enjoyed camping, playing dominos, and solitaire on the computer. Survivors include two sons, Duane Decker of Rock Falls, IL and Gordon Decker of Morrison, IL; five grandchildren, Jennifer (William) Heinisch, Ryan (Trinette) Decker, Nathan (Danielle) Decker, Matthew (Laurel) Decker and Ricky (Katie) Decker; eight great-grandchildren, Ben, Tyler, and Emma Heinisch, Payton and Chase Decker, Reece Decker, Lane and Luke Decker; and one brother, Donald Hamstra of Morrison, IL. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold; her second husband, Frank; one sister, Alma Meinema; two brothers, Marvin and Ralph Hamstra.
