Obituary for Dora J. Pessman
DORA J. PESSMAN, 90, of 202 South Grape, Morrison, IL, died Saturday, April 18, 2009 at Resthave Nursing Home, Morrison, IL. Dora was born May 26, 1918 in Morrison to Harry and Annie (Jensen) Newendyke. She attended rural Whiteside County schools. Dora married Homer J. Pessman on December 31, 1940 in Lyndon, IL. Dora was a homemaker and she farmed with her husband in the rural Morrison area. She was a member of the Morrison Christian Reformed Church where she was active in Ladies Aid Society. She was a member of the Resthave Nursing Home Auxiliary. Dora enjoyed keeping in touch with everyone through cards and letters. Survivors include her husband, Homer; one daughter, Joanne (Warren) Musser of Morrison, IL and one son, Arlyn (Jane) Pessman of Morrison, IL; five grandchildren, Laurie (Marty) Ybema, Brenda (Allen) Schaver, Sally (Tom) Byrnes, Kathy (Kevin) Polson, and Michael (Katie) Tichler; nine great grandchildren; two step grandchildren, Laurie (Patrick) Neuburg and Rae Ann (Randy) Buch; five step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Phern Tenboer, Hattie DeHamer, Jeanette Smith, Dora Newendyke; one brother, Jay Newendyke.
