Obituary for Donna R. Damhoff-Simmons
DONNA R. DAMHOFF-SIMMONS, 79, of Sun Prairie, WI, formerly of Fulton, IL, died Saturday, May 1, 2010 at the home of her daughter in Sun Prairie. Donna was born July 20, 1930, in Fulton, IL, to Everett and Jennie (Brondyke) Housenga. She was educated in the Fulton grade schools and graduated from Fulton High School. She married Donald L. Damhoff of January 28, 1950 in Fulton. He died June 9, 1980. She then married Robert Simmons in June of 1985. Donna was employed as a coupon processor by the former A.C. Nielsen Clearing House in Clinton, IA. She later was employed by the Harbor Crest Nursing Home in Fulton. She moved to Arizona in 1996 and resided there until 2005, when she moved to Sun Prairie, WI. She was a member of the Fulton Presbyterian Church. Donna enjoyed reading, knitting, baking and volunteering at Colonial View Apartments, where she resided since January of 2007. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed following NASCAR, cheering for the Milwaukee Brewers, Green Bay Packers and University of Wisconsin Badgers. Survivors include one daughter, Jody (Ron) Dahmen of Sun Prairie, WI; three sons, Donald (Linda) Damhoff of Fulton, David Damhoff of Fulton, and Richard (Sherry) Damhoff of Anthem, AZ; seven grandchildren; Elizabeth and Katie Dahmen; Andy (Natalie) Damhoff, Eric (Rebecca) Damhoff, Ryan, Michael and Scott Damhoff; three great-grandchildren, Bradlee and Baylen Damhoff, Braiden Damhoff; one sister, Linda (Darrell) Alm of Lake Havasu, AZ. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald; two grandchildren, Bradley and Katelyn Damhoff; one sister, Norma Wade; two brothers, Everett "Duder" Housenga and Harlan "Joe" Housenga.
